With over two million specimens and artefacts, the permanent exhibits of the Western Australian Museum (Perth site) include galleries of birds, butterflies, and marine life. As well, highlighting the history of Western Australia are exhibits of the Katta Djinoong (Western Australia's first peoples), the Old Perth Gaol, and local geological phenomena.
Regularly, the permanent exhibits are enhanced with various travelling exhibitions.

The Francis Burt Law Education Centre Museum is one of only a few law museums in the world. The museum hosts a collection of items that relate to the history of law in Western Australia. Hands-on learning is encouraged with visitors able to wear legal paraphernalia and participate in mock trials and exhibits.
